Christmas honey cookies
By tradition, different cookies and sweets are baked for Christmas. This cookie turned out very tender. We do not really like spices, such as ginger, cardamom, etc., so I used only honey and caramel. If you want, of course, you can add different spices to the dough and then the taste will be even more christmas.
In a deep saucepan we heat honey. It is very important that the honey does not boil! On the very small fire heat it up until it becomes liquid. If a film is formed, it is necessary to remove it.
Simultaneously with honey we deal with sugar. In a frying pan with a thick bottom, pour sugar, heat it on a small fire. Once the sugar begins to melt, pour the water and mix it quickly and very well so that the sugar is completely dissolved in water. We constantly stir. We give evaporated water to such a consistency that the sugar syrup has grown into a drab caramel.
The resulting caramel is poured into honey. At this stage you can add spices as you wish. It's best to pre-throw them in a blender.
In a honey-caramel mixture pour about 100 grams of flour. We mix well. Make sure that the fire is small - the mixture should not boil.
Put the butter on the dough. We wait for it to melt and mix the dough.
Take a pan from the plate and let the dough cool down a little. Add the egg to the dough and mix quickly so that the egg does not grab, as the dough is still warm.
Pour the rest of the flour and mix well with your hands. Gradually add more flour if necessary, so that the dough falls behind. We make a dough from the dough, wrap it in a film and put it in the refrigerator. Ideally, the dough should lie in the refrigerator for about a day, but you can use it after 2 hours of cooling.
Get the dough out of the refrigerator. It became dense, elastic. Roll out a fairly thin layer.
From the dough, using a mold or a stencil, we make figurines and spread out on a deco, covered with baking paper. We send the cookies to the oven heated to 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes to make the cookies browned.
Get the cookies. Let's cool it completely. Then decorate it. I used sugar powder and egg whites for glazing. All this needs to be well mixed, but not shattered. We decorate cookies on request. I also sprinkled with chocolate chips. You can add food dye to the glaze. Let's get glazed.
This cookie must be stored in a dry place at room temperature. The cooking time is indicated without taking the cooling dough into the refrigerator and cooling the cookie. Sweet taste!
